This past Wednesday, December 09, 2009 McNamara students lit the Christmas tree after school. The event of the century, well more like the day was complete with Santa. The lighting took place at 3:15 in the main concourse with students and Mrs. Park-Skerpon representing Campus Ministry. At the lighting they said a prayer, as we do with any activity, then proceeded to light the tree that second period student aides decorated. After the short prayer service students relived their childhoods taking pictures with Santa Claus. However Santa really turned out to be Nick Arbin ’10 in costume.
The photo-op was a fundraiser for Winter Sports. The profits contributed to their ski/snowboard trip in January at Liberty Mountain Resort in PA. “We got a good turnout,” said Michael Sensenig ’13.
Overall it was a fun activity and help put McNamara in the Christmas spirit before mid-term stress and our long break.
